Core Beliefs

Our Core Beliefs

At Grace River Fellowship, we are a post-denominational church. That means we unite around the essential truths (“dots”) of the Christian faith, while allowing freedom in secondary matters (“boxes”) that historically divide denominations.

1. God

  • One God, eternally existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • The Father initiates, the Son accomplishes, and the Spirit sustains all of God’s redemptive work.

2. Scripture

  • The Bible is God-breathed, inspired, and authoritative.
  • It is the final standard for truth, doctrine, and life.

3. Creation & Humanity

  • God created all things with purpose.
  • Men and women are made in His image, bearing dignity, worth, and responsibility.

4. Sin

  • Humanity rebelled against God, bringing sin and death into the world.
  • All people are in need of redemption through Jesus Christ.

5. Jesus Christ

  • Fully God and fully man.
  • Lived sinlessly, died as our substitute, rose bodily, ascended, and reigns today.

6. Salvation

  • By grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.
  • Involves repentance, new birth, justification, adoption, and lifelong transformation.

7. Sanctification

  • A Spirit-led journey of holiness and growth into Christ’s likeness.
  • Not legalism, not license—true grace empowers real change.

8. The Church

  • One global Body of Christ, expressed locally in gatherings of believers.
  • Exists to worship, disciple, fellowship, serve, and live on mission.

9. Baptism & Communion

  • Sacred ordinances given by Christ.
  • Baptism as a public declaration of faith; Communion as remembrance and participation in His sacrifice.
  • Differences in practice are respected as “boxes,” not dividing lines.

10. Mission

  • To make disciples, teach God’s Word, show compassion, and live as salt and light in the world.

11. The Return of Christ

  • Jesus will return visibly and gloriously to judge, renew creation, and reign forever.
  • This is the blessed hope of the Church.

12. Final Judgment & Eternity

  • Eternal life with God for those in Christ.
  • Eternal separation from God for those who reject Him.

13. The Christian Life

  • A Spirit-empowered life of worship, holiness, service, and mission.
  • Daily surrender to Christ, lived out in community.
