What We Believe
At Grace River Fellowship, we are a post-denominational church. That means we unite around the essential truths (“dots”) of the Christian faith while allowing freedom in secondary matters (“boxes”) where Christians have historically disagreed.
Our heartbeat is simple: keep Jesus at the center, anchor everything in Scripture, and live on mission together.
God
We believe in one living and true God—holy, loving, eternal, and all-powerful.
He exists as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit: three distinct Persons, co-equal in glory, yet united in purpose.
- The Father – Creator, sustainer, and the initiator of redemption.
- The Son – Jesus Christ, who accomplished salvation through His life, death, and resurrection.
- The Spirit – The indwelling presence of God who empowers, sanctifies, and leads His people.
Scripture
The Bible is God’s inspired, trustworthy, and authoritative Word.
It reveals who God is, what He has done, and how we are called to live. We believe it is the final standard of truth for faith and life.
Humanity & Sin
Men and women are created in God’s image with dignity and purpose. Yet through sin, humanity turned from God and became separated from Him. Every person is in need of salvation through Christ.
Jesus Christ
Jesus is fully God and fully man. He lived a sinless life, died on the cross as our substitute, rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and now reigns as Lord and King.
Salvation
We are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.
Salvation includes forgiveness, new birth, adoption into God’s family, and lifelong transformation through the Spirit.
The Church
The Church is the Body of Christ, made up of all believers everywhere. It is expressed locally in gatherings of God’s people who worship, learn, serve, and live on mission together.
Baptism & Communion
Jesus gave His followers two ordinances: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
- Baptism is the outward declaration of faith and new life in Christ.
- Communion is a sacred meal of remembrance, fellowship, and hope in Christ’s return.
We recognize that traditions differ in practice, but what unites us is Christ’s command to baptize and to share in His table.
Mission
The Church exists to glorify God by making disciples, teaching His Word, serving in love, and engaging the world with the hope of the gospel.
The Return of Christ
We believe Jesus will return visibly and gloriously to renew creation, bring justice, and gather His people forever. This hope fuels our faith, perseverance, and mission.
Eternity
Those in Christ will enjoy eternal life with Him in the new heavens and new earth. Those who reject Him face eternal separation. We live with urgency and hope, proclaiming the good news until He comes.
The Christian Life
The Christian life is a Spirit-led journey of worship, holiness, service, and mission. We live daily in God’s grace, growing to reflect Jesus in all we do.
👉 At Grace River Fellowship, these are the truths we joyfully confess and the foundation of the community we are building. We invite you to explore them with us as we seek to love God, love people, and live the gospel together.
